Hammer-on Chords
As a beginner and avid strummer of the guitar you may of well heard hammer-on chords in many of your favorite songs and wondered if its gonna take you years & years to understand how they are actually done. Heres an example of some nice sounding hammer-ons intertwinned into strumming.
Well the truth is they are not as complex as they sound, they sound great and add a much deeper dynamic to your strumming.
I remember before I could do this. For me it came naturally after really strumming the hell out of my guitar.
I remember first struggling with getting my fingers in the right place in time to strum the chord let alone hammer a specific note. It comes naturally once your fingers get faster and faster at getting to the chords.
Once you get into it you will find you are able to hammer entire chords. This is what I found out after a lot of hours trying. Though don’t think that its out of your league. keep on believing in what you are doing and it will come sooner than you think.
Take a look at this guys vid he explains it quite well and you get close ups of it.
